Hey Uyangaa - thanks for the list. This will be handy for those visitors I get from out of the country once in a while.

Hey Brent -- Got any personal favourites to add?

My list would also include Palau Ubin (for a bike ride and the tidal life tour/trail), Little India, Sultan Mosque and Arab Street and of course, a late-night durian meal in Geylang!

Good list. Haven't been to the Changi Chapel in years. Thanks for reminding me!

Hi, i have seriously squeezed out every single ounce of brain juice left in me to come out with "interestin places" in singapore. Try not to give you the general ones:)

1. Haji Lane , a prime area for shopping of clothes price range varies greatly there, so i say the fun lies in that. The name itself derives more or less from Middle Eastern Culture so you can head down there for some Middle Eastern Cuisine and what they call "Seesha" as well, (kind of like smoking with different flavors available like strawberry and etc) . In addition its all shop houses, so once you're sick and tired of high rise in singapore and would love to have a different enviroment to spend a lazy afternoon all the way till night, haji's the way to go.

Experience middle east in south east i call it.

2. Night Bazaar - ok this is rather tough, i have no idea this comes in what season or month for that matter but you can try online and check where these night bazaar aka Pasar Malam are currently. Here you can buy cheap stuff from Original Fakes and try out the different street food Singaporeans love. My reccomendation? go in one and ask "Hi, where's the Ramli Burger stall". It's noticable - there's always a long Q. You might need to hit te gym the next day though.

3. Marina Barrage - drive it up, get some food, sit there chill and try not to have any hanky panky.:)

4. Mint's Cafe - ok this is rather well unknown in Singapore, it's right behind Raffles Hotel, the cafe itself isn't atractive but is the 4 levels of Toy Museum that got me attracted, the Entrance fee is 15 dollars for adults but my oh my, how worth was that. Toys of Beatles, Bat Man, Tin Tin, Star wars and counting..... did i mention i stood face to face with Darth Vader standing 6 close to 7 foot? I wish i could buy Tin Tin's toy back, if it wasn't 800 dollars.:)

I say theses few places should keep your friends occupy for 2 days or maybe 3.:) If they are here for longer days, well can try those suggested by Uyangaa:)

Cheers:)

These are great! Especially the Toy Museum.

One more small museum to mention that's interesting: The Philatelic Museum at Coleman & Armenian Streets.

We have visitors stay at least once a month and I have a list of places already for them and how to get there.

Not in any order but mostly our visitors go to:

Changi Museum
Jurong Bird Park.
Chinese Gardens (and Bonsai Garden)
Bum Boat ride on the river.
Arab Quarters (Bussorah St etc)
Bukit Batok Nature Park.
Ah Tengs Bakery at Raffles (not paying the high price of the Tiffin Room!)
Little India area
Palau Ubin (the boat ride over and back is an experience in itself)
a wander along Clarke Quay.
Fort Canning.
Asian Civilization Museum.
Take the local bus over to JB for the day.
Sentosa (especially Jazz by the Beach)
Botanical Gardens when they have the music on a Sunday evening.
Henderson Waves walk
MacRitchie Reservoir
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
Changi Point Beach

am sure there are more, but is what they mostly see or do!

Hey why dont we all get together and explore all these places ourselves, so that when we have guest we can tell them if it is worth it or not. How can you recommend something when you have not even done or seen it yourself...hahah
