Singapore... So happening, yet so boring. A bit of an oxymoron eh? But let's face it... No matter where we are, who we are, there'll always be time when we step out of the office with no remote temptations to head home... and YET, have no idea where to go and what to do...

So folks... Where do you go and what do you do after work?

Depends on your mood mate and i am sure there are places to cater to each one of them ... U want a cheerful beer to while away the gloom after office .. there is boat quay ...

U wanna party harder ..even then u can have warm urself up at boat quay and head to Clarke Quay later.....

There are other choices too... find a fun friend to show you around ...

I keep seeing the words "Kaki" and friends. Aye, that's all cool but that still means you need to find company. What about being alone after work? I'm quite a lone ranger.

Lone Rangers always rides alone! It's more fun with the right company, so go ahead get people you already know and go out for some fun.

Else start a get together list on the forum - the first outing may not be all that great but you'll soon find your clicks.

Life's short - live it to the fullest!

I confess!

I am one of them "Lone Rangers"!

It's a Sunday morning, I've done my house chores, washed my car outside and inside, it's raining and I am wondering what else I can do with a Sunday such as today! Some may say - Plenty! Then again you'll need "kakis" right?

When I sit down to think about it - there are not that many "Kakis" that I have who will not (on a day like today) have high priorities like taking the kids and family out, visit the in-laws, etc, etc! It's not that I consider these things unimportant, but I do not have kids nor do I have in-laws to visit! Unlike in our Uni day when everyone is more or less in the same boat!

When you are working, your work friends are just that - work friends! The higher up the rungs of your career ladder - the lesser work friends you'll have. That's right and you'll always hear the phrase that "it's pretty lonely up there!"

Not wanting to let the blues get to me on a day like today, I'll go do what "Lone Rangers" do best - entertain yourself! Go hire a movie or re-watch those documentary blu-ray disks in HD, marveling at the quality of the sound and picture quality!!!!!

Sad but facts of life for "Lone Ranger"!

Well, for starters having friends definitely helps.. Laugh about silly things in orchard or just sitting, talking and eating random stuff in front of The Cathay will also works fine if you have at least 1 person with you.
You can always try to go shopping in some of the days.. But still it wouldn't be that fun with no friends around.

Let's see.. Things that you can do as a lone ranger?

Watch some movies..
Go for a movie marathon.. I saw this girl once watching movie by herself, or so I thought.. When the lights were on I notice that she's talking to "someone".. It was a Gothic doll that she have in her lap.. That was creppy.. @_@

Go to the book store..
There's lots of interesting books and magazine there to look around.. Sometimes I'll even go to the kids corner and read those idiot-prove books with title such as "My new Tutu" or "Where's Bunny?"

Go to the gym or dance class..
Work your buns out.. Always works to kill time and carbs all at one go..
Or go sign urself out for dance class.. There's this dance class in The Cathay Basement. They offer all kinds of dances. For guys, if you go there on some of the days at 10pm, you can see girls with hot pants and tank tops going pole dancing and even climb on the pole.. Even me n my girlfriends go "WOW".. @_@
Or in that case.. you can always sit around and watch them climb.. It works too..

Or this is what I occasionally do..
Bring your laptop along and go to the nearest Starbucks.. Get yourself a cup of coffee, maybe some of that cheese cake, and surf on the net..
You can get free internet connection, an occasional peek of people in sight, and you can watch those silly youtubes video..
Hey.. I'm a nerd.. What do you expect.. :p

Loof on North Bridge Road, opposite Raffles. One for one drinks in a rooftop bar setting, with view of the city. (Must present a business card -- doesn't have to be your own! -- to get the special offer. )

@ Ben:
Yes Ben, have done all that cleaning and video stuff. I even watch soccer alone in bar alone - though there's nothing wrong with this. So hmm... there's really nothing for loners to do in SG huh?

@ No_Nee
Ya I've seen those people... Buy an expensive "Dolfie" and treat it like human. Them pathetic Emo-wannabe...
As for dance classes... hmm... but I am already dancing. I am a bellydancer.

@ James
Er... I don't quite like Loof... Or I should say I like it that its a rooftop bar but I really don't like the smell of oily fumes puffed out of restaurant chimmies within the same building - which'll end up on my hair and clothes. O_o

Well ... if the mood strikes me, I take out my camera and go around the streets... 6:00pm is a good time to start.
Places like Little India, Chinatown and Geylang are when I am feeling high energy. Hort Park, Botanic Gardens and Wave Bridge are for when I want some peace, quiet and introspection. The sunset at Hort Park is great!

So if you are a camera buff or wished to be my model in one of these areas, do let me know...
