I can across this a few years ago. Very interesting. We all know that organic food is much more expensive (especially here in Singapore). So what foods are worth bying organic and what foods may not be. A study done by the Environmental Working Group found the following:

12 Most Contaminated

Peaches
Apples
Sweet Bell Peppers
Celery
Nectarines
Strawberries
Cherries
Pears
Grapes (Imported)
Spinach
Lettuce
Potatoes

12 Least Contaminated

Onions
Avocado
Sweet Corn (Frozen)
Pineapples
Mango
Asparagus
Sweet Peas (Frozen)
Kiwi Fruit
Bananas
Cabbage
Broccoli
Papaya

I also have a great healthy muffin recipe that I use every once in a while. It is kind of a combination of other recipes I've gleaned off the net over the past several years. Usually makes about 20-24 muffins and I eat them for breakfast and snacks. They are heavy but reasonably healthy (unlike almost any muffin you buy in the store).

2 cups whole wheat flour
1.5 cups oat bran (or 1.5 cups raw bran)
1.5 cups ground flax seed
2 cups of milk
3 tablespoons oil (I would use grapeseed oil or raw coconut oil)
0.5 cups honey
0.5 cups brown sugar (use less if you want - I tend to)
3 eggs beaten
1 tbsp salt (don't care if it is sea salt or not)
2 apples shredded
3 carrots shredded
2 mashed bananas
1 tsp cinnamon (I usually like a little more)
1 cup walnuts (walnuts a great for you)
1 cup of raisins (or a few more if you like)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

If you find the mixture a little too thick you can add some milk. If a little too thin you can add a bit more whole wheat flour. You are supposed to add and mix this stuff in some kind of order. Frankly it has never made a difference how I've done it. I just throw it all into a bowl and mix it all up by hand (a bit of a workout). Adter than I use a non-stick muffin tray (holds 12 so I have to bake twice) and leave for about 20 minutes in the oven at 350-375F or 175-190C

Ok - I don't know too much about fitness but on the food health side a do know a few things. I am pretty careful about what I eat. I have a few quick recipes to share here. One of them I got from that Dr. Oz guy (who sometimes appears on Oprah - yeah, I know I have too much time on my hands). He suggests a very healthy drink (called the "green drink"). It has the following ingredients:

2 apples
Juice of 1/2 lemon
2 cups spinach
2 cups cucumber
1 head of celery
1 bunch parsley
1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root
Juice of 1 lime

The greener this thing looks the better. Nothing like a few alkalines. However the apples are pretty necessary as they add a sweetness to the drink that really helps. Otherwise it may not taste great. Many folks today are saying that to effectively resist disease (to a point obviosuly) you need a relatively alkaline diet.
